Many women diagnosed with breast Cancer are known to share a common experience. A lump that wasn’t there before, which eventually turns out to be terminal. It’s why women are said to be aware of what their breasts feel like to notice even the slightest of changes.
A fair warning, a lump isn’t always the only symptom of breast Cancer. In fact, according to one preliminary research, one in six women diagnosed with breast Cancer are known to report about a symptom other than a lump at first. There can be absolutely normal reasons your breasts could feel lumpy.
Of course, that doesn’t mean should stop taking care of your breasts. Here are a few symptoms to you should look for.
Dimpling or scaly skin- A patch of skin that becomes rough, scaly, thick or starts to dimple more than usual can indicate breast cancer. Some breast Cancers are known to block the channels that run inside your breast to your skin, which in turn causes skin changes that make your breast look rough and dimply.
Swelling- More often than not a lump can form under the surface. The scary part is you won’t even feel it. This sometimes can change the shape or size of a breast, and could even result in some pain.
Nipple changes- Some breast cancers can cause nipple inversion or retraction, in which the nipple turns inward. Generally, it’s due to the fact that a mass grows inside the breast, which changes its shape.
Nipple discharge- Another possible nipple abnormality can be discharged and we’re not talking about breast milk. Nipple discharge, thankfully, doesn’t necessarily always mean cancer. But you should definitely go see a doctor immediately if the discharge comes out without you touching or squeezing the nipple, especially if it’s bloody and only affecting one side.
If you notice any changes in your breasts, you should go to a professional to evaluate them. Talk to your doctor about anything that looks fishy before it’s too late. Find the best Gynecologists and Oncologists on www.tiyo.in
